Summary: Ingram Micro’s Odin Automation Essentials platform added improvements that will enable hosters and service providers to manage and deliver a wider range of infrastructure services. Notably, the enhancements include the ability to manage and resell Azure infrastructure services and build a managed third party cloud strategy. Additional Microsoft-based services like Office 365 and Dynamics are also available through the new version of the platform. Other enhancements include a WordPress module for Plesk users and the ability to build and deliver cloud infrastructure services based on Virtuozzo 7. Odin Automation’s enhancements reflect the ongoing transformation in hosting portfolios. There is now a third party cloud component and more specific application-focused services like WordPress. Raising the bar on virtualization (Virtuozzo 7) is aimed at increasing density and maximizing use of existing infrastructure investments. All are critical elements in a shifting competitive landscape increasingly pressured by massive-scale.
