Summary: Microsoft is set to launch two more availability zones of the Azure cloud infrastructure service.
Details: The new zones are US Central in Iowa and US East 2 in Virginia. Microsoft also recently announced two more availability zones for Australia. In Asia-pacific, Azure has nodes in Singapore and Hong Kong, and two in Japan (Tokyo and Osaka). In Latin American it is in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In Europe, Azure is in Ireland and The Netherlands. And back in the US there is US East 1 in Virginia, US West in California, US North Central in Illinois and US South Central in Texas. It is also worth noting that Azure has China-based nodes targeted specifically at the Chinese market. Microsoft pointed to meaningful demand that is making new locations necessary in order to accommodate increasing capacity requirements.
