Summary: Microsoft continues to expand its Azure services in the UK with the launch of three new VMs for big data applications. All are available in six different sizes, based on Intel processors and use solid state drive (SSD)-based local storage from Microsoft’s 3 UK data centres (in London, Cardiff and Durham). The G-Series VM gives customers up to 449GB of memory and 6.14TB of SSD storage, while the H-Series is designed for complex engineering and scientific tasks and the N-Series is powered by NVIDIA GPUs, enabling high-performance compute simulations, real-time data analytics and DNA sequencing.
