Summary: Microsoft and SAP expanded their partnership and will use each other’s services and bet further on cloud. The SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, a private cloud service, and SAP Ariba will run on the Azure cloud. SAP will also move mission-critical internal systems – more than a dozen – to Azure. Microsoft will implement the SAP S/4HANA finance tool on Azure for its own internal finance processes and SAP will do the same. It also plans to connect SAP S/4HANA to Azure AI and analytics services for more efficient financial planning. SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud is going to be delivered as a managed service with SAP managing the application layer and Microsoft handling cloud infrastructure.
