Summary: Hitachi Solutions Americas acquired Capax Global, a Chicago-based application development, cloud management and consulting shop focused on the Microsoft platform. Capax Global has a diverse revenue base coming from cloud-based application development, cloud migration and enablement, application/data optimization and managed services on the Azure cloud. One of the interesting areas in this deal was Capax’s data and analytics capabilities that help organizations learn about their infrastructure in order to optimize. The skill set is also used to enable things like IoT workloads. Hitachi acquired Capax Global with the intent of expanding its overall capabilities in cloud and infrastructure management, consulting and services. At close, Capax Global had close to 100 employees. MVP Capital advised Capax Global. This is actually the second company MVP Capital helped sell to a Hitachi entity. Hitachi Ventara acquired REAN Cloud last August.
