Summary: RDX, a provider of database infrastructure and managed services, made a pair of acquisitions in recent weeks. The first deal saw it acquire clckwrk, a provider of managed services and hosting for Oracle databases based in the UK. Clckwrk also manages and migrates Oracle workloads to AWS. RDX also acquired Plano, Texas-based ClearDB. ClearDB runs MySQL workloads on all three major clouds: AWS, Azure and Google. The common theme in both deals is the ability to migrate and manage databases on third party public clouds. RDX is both consolidating and extending its capabilities to third party clouds so that it can support the deployment model of choice for customers.
