Summary: HOSTING has moved co-founder Joel Daly into the CEO position, replacing co-founder Art Zeile as he leaves the company.
Details: Daly was HOSTING’s EVP of sales. To fill that opening, HOSTING moved Bill Santos into the role of president, sales and marketing. Santos been with HOSTING since 2011 in various senior sales roles.
Growth metrics: HOSTING provided us with some data points on growth. New deal MRR nearly doubled in 2015 and the pipeline of deals that are above $100k has meaningfully expanded to its highest levels historically. Revenue and profit levels were not disclosed but were up in 2015 versus 2014.
Managed third party cloud: HOSTING is pushing the unified cloud concept: managed cloud for multiple cloud platforms. It supports AWS and Azure right now and has Google and IBM-SoftLayer in the plans. HOSTING confirmed a healthy pipeline of activity for managed cloud and the presence of large-sized deals. The ramping has been quick (and speaks to the market’s interest) as these services were only launched last year. In terms of verticals, HOSTING has experienced progress in retail, construction, media, finance and software.
Angle: HOSTING has been re-positioning with a big bet on managed cloud and compliance-oriented managed hosting. Its focus now will be on executing and going to market – retail and through the channel – and felt Daly would be the right person to lead that effort given his skill set.
