Summary: American Airlines Group, the world’s largest airline by traffic, is planning to move key portions of its customer website and other applications to cloud, and expects to make a decision on its service provider ‘within months’. It is currently evaluating AWS, IBM and Microsoft Azure and, once it has made its choice, will begin identifying which services and applications to move. With 1.2m individual daily site visits this summer, the customer website is top of the list. Another example of how large enterprise is starting to move to cloud and how there is a lot of evaluation and it likely to be move incrementally, workload by workload.
