Summary: Lenovo’s data centre group rolled out its newly designed infrastructure portfolio that features a re-branding of its server and infrastructure line. The ThinkSystem portfolio, encompassing servers, storage and networking, is powered by Intel Xeon Scalable processors and basically combines the capabilities of SystemX from IBM and Lenovo’s ThinkServer. A second brand – ThinkAgile – combines Lenovo gear with software-defined management tools. Lenovo has a converged infrastructure line for Nutanix and notably, ThinkAgile will form the foundation of a converged stack for Microsoft Azure – something that is going to be targeted at service providers. ThinkAgile also comes with white glove and installation support. Lenovo consolidated its organization to more effectively server enterprise data centres and service providers. It has aligned sales, marketing, supply chain and quality control under the data centre group.
