Summary: Telehouse America and KDDI America, both owned by Japan’s KDDI, are collaborating to become a single provider of colocation, cloud and connectivity services for enterprises. The move seems to stop short of a merger, but both companies are headquartered in New York and have shared management in the form of Masatoshi Nobuhara, who has been president and CEO of both for the past two years (and is a KDDI veteran with the company since 1998). Telehouse America operates one data centre in New York and two in Los Angeles, which are major carrier hotels that house the NYIIX and LAIIX IXPs respectively. KDDI America provides AWS, Azure and Microsoft 365 connectivity services.
