Summary: The Coca-Cola Company will standardise its business operations on Microsoft Azure, and use Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 services, under a five-year deal signed with Microsoft. A contract of this magnitude does not happen overnight and discussions will have been happening well before COVID-19 hit. But the roll out of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams is being driven at least partly by the pandemic – to give employees a single hub to collect and collaborate across chat, calling, meetings and documents. With its bottling partners, the company has over 700k employees and operates in over 200 countries and territories. Coca-Cola has already used Microsoft 365 Live Events to virtually host its quarterly earnings town hall meeting for employees. It will also deploy Dynamics 365 Customer Service and the Power Platform to all employees to improve productivity and security. New Dynamics 365 insights driven by AI and real-time dashboards will allow call centre managers to monitor performance and give insight into customer needs. Coca-Cola is known to have previously used AWS and Salesforce. It has not given any detail about its future use of other vendors although it noted it would be replacing ‘previously disparate and fragmented systems’ with Microsoft.
