Summary: Local media reports indicate Microsoft has bought land in both Iowa and Northern Virginia. Microsoft first landed in West Des Moines in 2008 and has two data centres with a third expected to open in May 2022. It has confirmed plans to build two more, with each spanning 1.8m sqft on 130-acre sites. Construction is expected to begin in 3Q21.
