Summary: Pamlico Capital acquired a stake in SAP-focused MSP and application hosting provider Protera Technologies. Protera, based in Chicago, manages SAP environments for customers across multiple infrastructure deployment models. It hosts SAP infrastructure in its data centres on bare metal and private clouds, while also helping customers migrate and run on public clouds. Protera currently supports AWS and Azure. Pamlico Capital is Protera’s first institutional investor and this is not its first foray into the MSP space, having previously invested in HOSTING and 10th Magnitude. HOSTING was later merged with Hostway and 10th Magnitude was recently acquired by Cognizant. Joining the Protera board are two CEOs from the sector: former application hosting provider Secure-24 CEO Mike Jennings and 10th Magnitude CEO Alex Brown.
